You have a family photo shoot scheduled for tomorrow. However, you are scared that you won’t be able to smile because of your yellow teeth. And that’s a problem that shouldn’t be ignored. Right from having a perfect smile to the digestion process of our body, our teeth play an important role in our lives. And that’s why we must take care of them.

Your body is the only place you are going to live in for the rest of your life. And you should handle it with care. And that’s why you must pay a great deal of attention to your dental health as well. That’s why, here we have prepared a few tips that you should follow to maintain your dental health.

1. Floss Daily

Remember this! Flossing’s important. And with a slow and gentle motion, you should floss your teeth daily in order to avoid the bacteria and any kind of damage to your gums. You should floss at least twice a day.

2. Brush At Least Twice A Day

You should brush after meals. It’s the best time. You should go for a toothbrush with a small head as it will help you access all of your teeth and clean them properly. Replace your toothbrush at least once in 3 months.

3. Buy Fluoridated Toothpaste

Fluoride is known to harden the enamel of your tooth. This will, in turn, result in the prevention of tooth decay. And that’s one of the main reasons you should select brushing your teeth with fluoridated toothpaste.

4. Brush Thoroughly

Do it right! You should at least brush for about 3-4 minutes at a time.

5. Avoid Sugary Foods

The bacteria in the dental plaque will simply convert the sugar into acids, which will potentially cause more harm than good.

6. Avoid Acidic Drinks Including Fruit Juices, Soft Drinks & Cordials

The one thing that these soft drinks will do to your teeth is soften up the tooth material, which will, in turn, lead to the dissolution of minerals in the tooth enamel. This will further lead to cavities.

7. Tooth Knocked Out? Save It

If your tooth has been recently knocked out, make sure that you hold it back in place. The next step is to visit a dentist immediately. If it isn’t possible, you need to wrap up the tooth in plastic, or you can simply dip it in milk and go to a dentist as soon as possible.

8. Protect Your Teeth From Injuries

You should be cautious about your teeth and protect them from any injuries. While playing sports, you should wear a full-face helmet or a mouthguard.

9. Go To Your Dentist For Regular Check-ups

If you face any serious dental issues, go visit your dentist. It’s the only way to get them solved.

10. Just Chew! Nothing Else

Teeth are for chewing food and not for any other purposes. Don’t use them to crack nuts or remove bottle tops.

It’s your responsibility to protect your teeth, and you should follow these above steps in order to ensure that your teeth are protected at all times!
